What happens if a product already exists in BigCommerce?
The connector updates an existing product if a product link exists in the product mapping. Otherwise, it creates a new product.
How can I filter products that I need to sync?
Products can be filtered in four ways - Status, Completeness, Frequency filter and Advance Search (JSON).
Can I schedule sync jobs?

Product Sync
What makes a product eligible for creation in BigCommerce?
Product must have a Name, Type, Price and Weight in Akeneo and be configured on the connector to sync to BigCommerce.
What Akeneo data types can be synced to BigCommerce?
You can sync all data types supported by Akeneo enterprise & all other editions. For example, standard attributes like text, text area, number, boolean, simple select, multi-select, table, file, image, asset collection, reference entities, and more.
What BigCommerce product information can be synced from Akeneo ?
All standard product attributes (incl. product name, description, type, price, sku, image etc.), variant & modifier options, custom fields, product & variant metafields (incl. custom metafield namespaces), SEO information, Shipping information, categories assigments, brand assigments, and more.
Can I customize product URLs during creation?
Yes, via attribute mapping.
What happens if the product already exists in BigCommerce?
The connector updates the existing product instead of creating a duplicate.
Does the connector assign categories during product creation?
Yes, based on category assignment to a product in Akeneo.
Can I control which products are created?
Yes, using channel scope, completeness, Frequency Type and Advanced Search JSON filters.
What happens when I update a product in Akeneo?
Only updated fields are synced to BigCommerce.
Are product updates real-time?
The connector supports scheduled, incremental, or manual sync.
Can I update specific products only?
Yes, targeted sync is supported.
Can I prevent certain fields from being overwritten?
Yes, using selective attribute mapping.
What happens if BigCommerce data is edited manually?
It may be overwritten depending on configuration(whether the edited attribute is mapped).
Can products be deleted from BigCommerce via the connector?
The connector doesn't support deletion of products from BigCommerce.
Can the connector sync three level products?
Yes, the connector can synchronize three level products.
Variant Sync
How are variant attributes mapped?
Variant attributes are mapped under Variant Mapping on the connector.
What happens when variant data is updated in Akeneo?
Variant fields like price, SKU, and attributes are updated in BigCommerce.
Can I add new variants after initial sync?
Yes, new variants can be added and synchronized to BigCommerce after initial sync.
Can variants be deleted in BigCommerce when deleted from Akeneo?
No, the connector doesn't delete variants in BigCommerce.
What media types / attributes are supported?
Whether media is stored as an Asset Collection attributes or standard attributes, connector can sync physical images, URLs, Videos, PDFs, Datasheets, and more.
How are images created in BigCommerce?
If you add an image in Akeneo, and the image attribute is mapped using the Connector UI, new images should be created under "Images & Videos" section on BigCommerce.
Can I sync multiple images per product?
Yes, multiple images per product are supported.
Can images be assigned to variants?
Yes, variant-level images are supported.
What happens when an image is updated in Akeneo?
The image is replaced or updated in BigCommerce.
Can I control image order?
Yes. The image order can be controlled via the connector mapping on the UI.
What happens when an image is removed in Akeneo?
It is removed from BigCommerce.
What data can be created as metafields?
Any mapped Akeneo attribute can be synced as metafields.
Can I create metafields for products and variants?
Yes, both are supported.
What happens when metafield data changes?
Updated values are synced to BigCommerce.
Can I transform metafields before synchronizing?
Yes, connector supports smart data transformation for metafields. You can transform the attribute name, values, and namespaces.
Can I sync multi-select attributes as metafields?
Yes.
What happens when a metafield value is removed in Akeneo?
The metafield is cleared or removed from BigCommerce.
Category Sync
Do you sync categories from Akeneo to BigCommerce?
Yes, the Connector can sync categories to BigCommerce. It can sync one or more channel/storefront specific category tree.
What category data is synced to BigCommerce?
Typically the category Name is synced. However, if you use Enriched Category Template in Akeneo, then you can sync additional information like category image, description, meta title, meta description, meta keywords, search keywords, custom URL, sort order, product sort order, and more.
What happens when category data changes in Akeneo?
Category details are updated in BigCommerce.
How are product assignments updated?
If a category is assigned or removed from the product in Akeneo, the connector will sync the updated category assignments as a part of product sync to BigCommerce.
What happens when a category is deleted in Akeneo?
Connector will not delete the category from BigCommerce. The delete must be manually handled.
Association Sync
How are associations created in BigCommerce?
Associations are created as Related Products in BigCommerce.
Where are associations mapped on the connector?
Associations are mapped under Product Relationship Mapping on the connector.
Do you support handle additional product relationships, apart from Related Products?
Yes, we Connector can sync the other product relationships managed as associations as a metafield.
Bundle Product Sync
Do you handle bundle product sync?
Yes the connector supports Bundle products. Bundle product sync is supported for multiple bundle setups.
Does the connector support synchronization of grouped products?
Yes we support grouped product sync.
Notifications
Do I get notified upon sync completion?
Yes. You can recieve a notification via email or directly to your team or slack chat that includes the sync status and downloadable error report.
Do I get an error report when there are failures?
Yes. You can download an extensive summary report as well as the error report.
How do I know if the PIM and BigCommerce API details are saved?
When you click on Save Config under Connections, "Credentials saved successfully" is displayed on the connector.
How do I know if the PIM connection is successful?
When you click on Test PIM Connection, "PIM connection success" is displayed on the connector.
How do I know if the Data Filters are saved?
When you click on Save, "Data filters saved successfully" is displayed on the connector.
How do I save Product Mapping?
When you hit Save Config, "Attribute mapping saved successfully" is displayed on the connector.
Common Errors
What happens if a sync fails?
Errors are logged and visible in reports under Sync Status tab against each sync job.
Where can the errors be viewed?
Errors are captured in a failure report and this will be available for download against any sync job that has failed.
Why is my product not syncing?
A product doesn't sync usually due to completeness, filters, or mapping issues.
Why are images not syncing?
Images don't sync due to mapping, limitation or access issues.
Why are metafields missing?
Metafields might miss because of mapping issues or when the values are absent in Akeneo.
Why does the failure report say Product Name is required?
The product name is either not mapped or its value is absent in Akeneo.
Why does the failure report say Product SKU is a duplicate?
BigCommerce requires every product to have a unique SKU.
Can the connector handle large catalogs?
Yes, the connector can handle large catalogs. We can support any catalog with 100's to 1M+ SKUs.
How are BigCommerce API limits handled?
Connector is built on a very robust and performant architecture. It includes multi-threading and retry mechanisim to ensure peformance.
How much time does the connector take to sync 1000 SKUs?
The sync time depends on factors such as product complexity, attribute count, images, API limits, and network performance. On average, connector can syn 1000 SKUs in less than a minute.

I am using the older version of Akeneo software, will the connector work for me?
Our connector is compatible with all Akeneo editions (incl. Premium, Adavance (Flexibility/Serenity) , Growth, and Community) version 2.x or higher. We highly recommend that you use the latest Akeneo version. If you need help upgrading to the latest version, contact us for help.
