Product Data Mappings Setup

Map PIM attributes to Shopify fields.

Product Mappings

Map PIM attributes to be synced as Product Level Shopify fields.


Steps:
  1. Map all the required Shopify fields to appropriate attributes in PIM.

    1. Title ← Title/name attribute

  2. Map the optional fields as needed, like Description, Product status, Type, Vendor, TAGS, and more.

  3. Add default values for standard Shopify fields that are not managed in the PIM by clicking on “Add default value”.

  4. Click on Save Config once the mappings are finalized.

Publishing Settings


Steps:
  1. Map the multi select attribute in PIM to the Sales channels mapping that determines which channel a product will be assigned to.

  2. Click on Save Config once the mapping is finalized.

  3. Sales channels: Define which products are assigned to specific Shopify sales channels. This option is used when your account has multiple channels.

    1. Create a multi-select attribute in Akeneo (for example shopify_channels).

    2. Each option should have:

      1. Code = Shopify Channel GID (numeric ID)

      2. Label = readable channel name

    3. Select the channels where the product should be available. When synced, the product will be assigned to those channels.

Media


Steps:
  1. Select the attributes to be synced as Product Images in Shopify.

    1. Product Images ← Asset Collection attributes in PIM

    2. Product Images Standard Image attributes (files) in PIM

    3. Product Images ← Text attributes (URLs) in PIM

  2. Map the attribute to be synced as a Variant Image in Shopify.

    1. Variant Image ← Asset Collection attribute in PIM

    2. Variant Image Standard Image attribute (files) in PIM

    3. Variant Image ← Text attribute (URLs) in PIM

  3. Select the attributes to be synced as Product Videos in Shopify.

    1. Product Videos (YouTube&Vimeo) ← Text attributes (URLs) in PIM

  4. Click on Save Config once the mappings are finalized.

Pricing


Steps:
  1. Map the price attributes at the Product Level in PIM to sync to Shopify.

  2. Click on Save Config once the mappings are finalized.

Inventory


Steps:
  1. Map the Inventory attributes at the Product Level in PIM to sync to Shopify.

  2. Click on Save Config once the mappings are finalized.

Shipping


Steps:
  1. Map the Shipping attributes at the Product Level in PIM to sync to Shopify.

  2. Click on Save Config once the mappings are finalized.

Variant

Map PIM attributes to be synced as Variant Level Shopify fields.


Steps:
  1. Map the Variant Shopify fields to appropriate attributes in the PIM.

    1. Variant price ← Variant Price attribute

    2. Variant compare at price ← Variant Compare at Price attribute

    3. Variant taxable? ← Variant taxable attribute

    4. Variant cost per item ← Variant cost per item attribute

    5. Variant SKU ← SKU attribute for variant

  2. Click on Save Config once the mappings are finalized.

Metafields

Map PIM attributes to Shopify metafields to deliver additional structured data.

Steps:

  1. Select the attributes to be synced as product & variant metafields in Shopify. Supported PIM data types include text, text area, boolean, number, price, date, simple & multi select, identifier and metric.


  2. Click on Save Config once the mappings are finalized.

Search Engine Listing

Map PIM attributes to Shopify SEO fields.

Steps:

  1. Map the SEO Shopify fields to appropriate attributes in the PIM. 


  2. Click on Save Config once the mappings are finalized.

Additional Mapping


  1. Import images during product updates?: Control whether images are synced by selecting Yes or No from the dropdown. This setting applies to the immediate next sync and the subsequent syncs until the setting is changed.
